ACTIVITIES

NATURAL ATTRACTIONS

Gloucester National Park

Only 3 kilometres from Pemberton, Gloucester National Park is home to Western Australia’s most famous karri tree. The Gloucester Tree was once a fire lookout tree and can now be climbed by the public. Those who do venture up the 153 pegs to the top will be rewarded with commanding views of the karri forest and surrounding farmland.

Greater Beedelup National Park

The park takes its name from Beedelup Brook, which is thought to be derived from the Nyoongar word Beedja meaning place of rest or place of sleep, fitting for such a tranquil area. The major attraction in the park is the Beedelup Falls, which are best viewed in winter and spring when they are in full flow with winter rains.

Warren National Park

Warren National Park is home to some of the State’s most majestic karri trees. The 3,131-hectare park is regarded as a prime example of virgin karri forest.

Karri (Eucalyptus diversicolor) grows up to 90 metres high, making it the tallest tree in Western Australia and one of the tallest in the world.

Bibbulmun Track

The Bibbulmun Track is one of the world’s great long distance walk trails, stretching 1000km from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills, to Albany on the south coast, winding through the heart of the scenic South West of Western Australia.

Munda Biddi Trail

The Munda Biddi Trail (which means path through the forest in the Noongar Aboriginal language)  is fast becoming a world-class nature-based off-road cycling experience. There are few places left in the world where a 1000km track could be built through an undeveloped natural corridor. Combine Western Australia's vast areas of unspoiled forests and bushland, gentle terrain, and year-round cycling weather, and you have the ideal setting for an off-road cycle trail.
